A giant indoor warehouse-turned-gym, that boasts large sensory swings, trampolines, climbing equipment and anything else you can think of to get your body moving as well as an arts and crafts area and toys.

The Sensory Club- Pewaukee ……………………………………………

The Sensory Club offers a large gym area with a climbing wall and crash mat, suspended sensory swings, indoor climbing gym and more. The highlight of the Sensory Club is their giant ball pit with an automated “hamster tube” system above the pit where balls travel above your head and drop into the pit with you. The Sensory Room is a close second attraction with their floor to ceiling bubble tube and mirror wall as well as stargazing tunnel, bean bags, and light walls for the ultimate sensory experience.

Nugget Nation- Brookfield ……………………………………………………

Nugget Nation is a large indoor play space that has an indoor jungle gym equipped with climbing areas and slides as well as their fine motor play area with train tables, blocks, and other toys. Another feature is their “Nugget Town” which is a simulated small town that has child-sized houses, grocery store, construction zone, flower shop, food trucks, a vet clinic and more! They also advertise a “Tiny Terrace” for the crawlers and early learners with toys that foster development.

The Little Village Play Cafe- Wauwatosa ………………………………………………

You know what they say- it takes a village! The Little Village Play Cafe is the upscale version of a McDonald’s Play Place. It is a coffee shop and cafe that has a small indoor jungle gym as well as art areas and toy stations for play! They also offer classes for kids and caregivers that foster creativity and imaginative play led by a staff member of the cafe. 

Age: no ages listed, however it appeared to be curated to ages 6/7 & under. 

Membership Required: No, but offered 

Cost: $7.50 for 30 minutes, $11 for 60 minutes, $15 for 90 minutes (extend visits by 30 min for $4) Membership pricing is based on the membership chosen and benefits included (prices range from $65/month to $275/month).

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum- Milwaukee ………………………………

A children’s museum with hands-on interactive exhibits that foster imagination and developmental skills.  The museum offers a “quiet room” to step away from the play, with adjustable lighting, fidget toys, and comfy seating. The museum also offers sensory-friendly specific times for additional accommodation (2nd Sunday of the month 5-7pm, 4th Sunday of the month 3:30-5:30pm).

AMC Movie Theaters- Wauwatosa (Mayfair Mall), Johnson Creek ………………

AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to offer unique movie showings where they turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Their Sensory Friendly Screenings will begin immediately at its scheduled showtime, without trailers playing before the show starts.

Sensory Friendly Showings: available on the second & fourth Saturday (family friendly) and Wednesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month.
